- Effect: The Angel’s biology alters to unlock a primitive form of melee attack. Often a Bite, Claw, Fist or Cranial Horn attack this natural weapon deals Width in Killing and Shock damage (Rending or Impact). Natural weapons, regardless of Damage Type, may not be upgraded with WUP or be used to Parry.

Natural Talent

- Prerequisites: Natural Weapon
- Effect: The Angel is especially adept at using its natural tools. Any and all Natural Weapons of the Angel deal Width+2 in damage.

Natural Sharpness
- BUP Cost: 3
- Prerequisites: Natural Weapon
- Effect: The Angel’s natural weapons are especially good as tearing through armor. Any and all Natural Weapons of the Angel gain +1 Armor Penetration.

Sturdy
- BUP Cost: 1
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: You gain a +2d bonus to Body Skill rolls to resist Tripping and other physically debilitating attacks.

Adrenal Implants I

- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: +1 Wound to all hit locations.

Adrenal Implants II

- Prerequisites: Redundant Organs I
- Effect: +1 Wound to all hit locations.

Adrenal Implants III

- Effect: +1 Wound to all hit locations.

Enhanced Musculature I
- BUP Cost: 2
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: When looking to increase the power of an Angel’s limbs, its musculature is the first place to look; and, with a combination of hormone therapy, tissue grafts and synthetic fiber lacing, the most efficient place to do it. The Angel gains +1d in their Body. (To a maximum of 5d).

Enhanced Musculature II

- Prerequisites: Enhanced Musculature I
- Effect: The Angel gains +1d in their Body. (To a maximum of 6d).

Enhanced Musculature III
- BUP Cost: 15
- Prerequisites: Enhanced Musculature II
- Effect: The Angel gains +1d in their Body. (To a maximum of 7d).

Unnatural Eye (Clarity)
- BUP Cost: 1
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: The Angel may look human, but it is still an alien beast with inhuman ability. This Angel is blessed with an incredible eye for detail, and when in it the Pilot may test Perceive twice and use the better roll. The effects of multiple Uncanny Eye upgrades do not stack. Once one Uncanny Eye option has been purchased, the player may not purchase another.

Unnatural Eye (Farsight)
- BUP Cost: 2
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: This Angel is especially good at seeing long distances, and treats the Range of all Ranged Weapons to be double what it really is. The effects of multiple Uncanny Eye upgrades do not stack. Once one Uncanny Eye option has been purchased, the player may not purchase another.

Unnatural Eye (Spectrum)
- BUP Cost: 3
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: The Angel may look human, but it is still an alien beast with inhuman ability. This Angel proves the point more than most, as it can see in ranges outside what mere humans call “visible light”. The pilot of this Angel is never treated as being in Darkness, and may test Perceive to see things that would otherwise be classified as “invisible”. The effects of multiple Uncanny Eye upgrades do not stack. Once one Uncanny Eye option has been purchased, the player may not purchase another.

Twitch Fiber Grafts
- BUP Cost: 2
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: Being humanoid in shape means that an Angel is entirely dependent on its body for locomotion. Its muscles and tendons are what powers its ability to walk, run and jump, rather than any kind of mechanical movement system. Since an Angel enjoys the tireless nature of its machine heritage however, those movements can be made dramatically more powerful by replacing efficient, slow firing muscle fibers with those normally reserved for sprinting in humans. Increase the Angel’s Athletics dice by 1 for the purpose of movement.

Twitch Fiber Grafts II

- Prerequisites: Twitch Fiber Grafts I
- Effect: Increase the Angel’s Athletics dice by 1 for the purpose of movement.

Accelerated Mitosis
- BUP Cost: 4
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: Unlike any other war machine, an Angel possesses the ability, like all organic beings, to repair damage sustained to its body all on its own. While already able to heal incredibly rapidly by normal standards, through cellular mutations still not fully understood by Nerv scientists, this natural process of replacing destroyed tissue can be sped up to the point where the Angel’s flesh closes back together in a matter of minutes. An Angel with the Accelerated Mitosis upgrade gains a Regeneration of 1 Wounds per round, with the exception that Critical Damage may not be recovered in this way, and each Wound is allocated to a single body location of the player’s choice. Obviously, this eliminates the need to replenish the Angel’s wounds through repair between battles.

Core Membrane

- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: As vital as the core of the Angel is to allowing its human occupant to control it, prolonged, close proximity to it has been shown to cause potentially dangerous physical and psychological contamination. Though simply accepted as a risk of the job in most cases, especially cautious or concerned scientists may influence the Angel’s recessive genes to cause the growth of a thin, transparent membrane over the core, capable of insulating against the bottom range of the core’s energy emissions and protecting the pilot to a small degree, without compromising synchronization. While piloting an Angel with the Core Membrane upgrade, whenever the pilot takes Ego Damage from having a high Sync Ratio, reduce the amount of Ego Damage taken by 1, to a minimum of 0.

Dermal Armor
- BUP Cost: 4
- Prerequisites: None
- Effect: An exceptionally useful product of Angel self-genetic-alteration is the growth of a tight layer of microscopic filaments throughout the Angel’s dermal layer, composed of exotic, semi-organic materials with almost limitless tensile strength. Though still baffling to Nerv’s science team, the benefits of nigh unbreakable skin are obvious, in that only purely internal damage can be dealt to the Angel in significant quantity. Whenever an Angel with the Dermal Armor upgrade takes Critical Damage, reduce the amount of Critical Damage dealt to it by 1.

Double Retina
- BUP Cost: 3
- Prerequisite: None
- Effect: Something of a step up from the reflective layer found in the eyes of animals possessing keen night vision, Angels quite readily accept implants of an entire secondary retina behind their first, essentially allowing them to pick an image twice before it ever enters its visual processing software. This Angel gains a +1d bonus to its Sense stat.

Redundant Organs
- BUP Cost: 14
As a final testament to the utter indomitability of the Angel, recent breakthroughs have discovered ways to unlock suppressed organ growth that endows an Angel with vital systems fully capable of functioning without things previously thought indispensable. Such as a head. While still an imperfect procedure, and especially incompatible with human pilots, experimental versions of the therapy are already in use. When an Angel with the Redundant Organs upgrade would be defeated, roll Vigor+Body. On a success, it continues to operate for a number of rounds equal to the Vigor dice before finally succumbing to its injuries. If during this time, the Angel would take Critical Damage that would render it defeated again, it must roll Vigor+Body again at a difficulty equal to its combined Body and Head Critical Damage, divided by two, or else immediately cease to function. This is an especially traumatic experience for the pilot, and each round the Evangelion continues to fight beyond death, the pilot gains 1 Insanity Point. Once used, the Redundant Organs may not be used again until the Angel has been repaired.
